In 2016, MCM completed the renovation of The Kennel Club, including Europe's largest dog library; the club's gallery, members' room, restaurant, office space and archive. The end result is a series of connecting spaces that great members and staff with warmth and friendliness, which resonates strongly the character of The Kennel Club.
The new work spaces are light, open and airy, and have transformed communication throughout the whole organisation. The site configuration, and sight-line constraints have worked to the club’s advantage and enabled MCM to create a series of external terraces, which are accessed from the working floors, and a winter garden as part of the club space. It was important that the original ambience of the club was retained, along with all the existing amenities, while establishing a modern, efficient, effective working environment that more accurately reflected the way that the club operates today, and was capable of adapting to change in the future.
